Please use the I have forgotten my password feature. This will set a new one for you, or establish one if you are new to the College and/or have not done the ACCR in the past. The online provider (email@example.com) will email instructions to the email address you have on file with the College. This email can take up to 20 minutes to arrive but is often sooner.
Please note that after 7 unsuccessful login attempts your account will be locked and a password reset will not override this. See our FAQ: Help! I am locked out, for more help.
Hint! Consider using the same password for both the ACCR and registration renewal. Your username for both is your COTBC registration number.
After seven (7) unsuccessful log in attempts your account will be locked (for data security purposes).
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org with your name and registration number. We’ll confirm your situation and work with the online provider to have your account unlocked. This process could take up to 3 business days. Once unlocked, our QAP Administrative Associate will contact you by email to let you know you can now log in.

The email to reset should arrive within 20 minutes, please check all folders including junk/spam for an email from the online provider email@example.com. If you are still not seeing the email, you may need to add firstname.lastname@example.org to your Safe Sender list or address book.

Below we have provided instructions on how to place an email address onto one’s Safe Senders List in the Proofpoint Anti-Spam system which will allow emails from a particular sender to flow through.
- Navigate to https://antispam.viha.ca and log in using your Windows username and password.
- Click on the Lists option near the bottom left corner of the page.
- Click on the Safe Senders List option above.
- Click the New option along the top.
- Enter the desired email address (email@example.com) into the Email Address field then click the Save button.
Please allow up to 4 hours for this change to take effect.

Please take a look below for two troubleshooting options
- ACCR and Renewal are separate systems. If you set a new password for your ACCR it is not automatically set to be your Renewal password. You will need to use the reset option on the renewal page.
- Sometimes there can be info “cached” on the page from before. Please close the browser and all tabs and open the link on a fresh page. Another option is to switch browsers if able to.

Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to have your email address updated. To keep your ACCR responses private, the change goes through the online provider. Once they check the change, you will receive an email from our QAP Administrative Associate confirming your updated email. If the system does not have your current email account, you won’t receive password reset information or confirmation of completion emails.
All occupational therapists with full and provisional registration with COTBC as of April 3, 2019 must complete the ACCR by June 30, 2019 to renew their registration. It is considered their 2019 continuing competence requirement for renewal.
If you hold non-practising registration we recommend taking the ACCR to keep up-to-date with changes in practice. It can act as bridge to practice; it can help keep you current. In addition to the Practice Quiz feedback, the ACCR provides helpful suggestions for transitions such as returning to practice after a leave.
If you do not wish to take the ACCR and hold non-practising registration, please contact us so you do not continue to receive reminders.
You will need to send an email to email@example.com to declare your intent to cancel your registration status effective June 30, 2019, and your name will be removed from the ACCR reminder list. However, if you change your mind, make sure you complete the ACCR prior to June 30, 2019 or you will not meet the registration requirements and a late fee will apply.
The ACCR is actually a great way for you to quickly become familiar with some of the regulations and legislation in BC. The College does not see your results. The Practice Quiz is designed for you to answer the questions, before or after reviewing the relevant resources, such as a new standard or advisory statement. You then receive a feedback report with the College’s recommended answers and yours. You can quickly see whether your understanding or reasoning was correct, and from there, decide where you may need to do more learning.
The ACCR also reviews your transitions and supports, and offers strategies for managing the transitions you identify. You might find the suggestions regarding moving from another province very relevant to your current situation.
The deadline is June 30, 2019 and the ACCR is accessible online and therefore anywhere there is a reliable Internet connection. If you were registered after April 3, 2019 you are not required to do this year’s ACCR.
Registration with the College indicates to the public that you have met the education and practice standards, as well as the annual continuing competence requirements which is the ACCR. In previous years, most registrants reported it took from one to two hours. You can complete steps of the ACCR at different times. Please remember to save so your answers are recorded and appear when you return. Reviewing your feedback report and checking the practice resources may take longer but can be done at a later time. Both are available year-round, except when we are updating the site for next year’s ACCR.
You must complete all the parts or cases in each step or you won’t be allowed to move to the next step. Review the parts or cases at the top of the page. If you have completed all of them, there will be a check mark beside each one. If there isn’t a check mark, click on the part to return to the case to answer all the questions. Remember to use the Save button to record your answers.
The green SAVE button is your friend. Even in the steps that are not required, you must press SAVE for the final declaration step to appear.
Once you have completed all the parts/cases and saved, the blue “go to” button appears at the bottom of the page. Click on this to advance to the next step.
Once you have completed all the steps, you can return to any step and change your answers up until you submit your Declaration of Completion.
Yes, discussions with your peers can help you to identify transitions and resources to support your competence. It can also be helpful to discuss the various answer options in the Practice Quiz. We hope that cases and questions will generate discussion, help to identify similar scenarios in your own practice, and promote safe, ethical and effective care.
When you click SUBMIT, your Declaration of Completion is recorded in the online system. You receive a confirmation email from CSCW Systems Corporation and College staff check the system for completions daily. The College does not have access to individual results; they remain confidential and known only to you.
The Evaluate tab also appears once you have submitted your declaration. Please take time to provide your input.
To optimize your experience and avoid problems, we recommend the following:
Use a laptop or desktop computer.
Working on a mobile phone or small tablet may interfere with the visibility of some functions and are not recommended.
Avoid using operating systems that are quite old.
Windows (XP) is no longer supported by Microsoft without a current browser. MacIntosh operating systems work but again, avoid older systems.
Use a "Best Bet Browser" by updating your browser
Switch to a current version of Firefox if you notice a problem. It works well combined with many different operating systems (new and old). It’s a free download available on the Firefox site.
Major computer operating systems Microsoft Windows (8.1/10) or Apple (10.13) work well with current versions of these browsers: Firefox, Safari and Internet Explorer. Google Chrome is less reliable.
