We are pleased to welcome Heather Burrett, who has joined the College team as the Manager, Quality Assurance Program. Heather brings a breadth of experience in occupational therapy clinical services, leadership and practice support.
She has been involved in our COTBC program as a case writer since the inception of our Case Development Sub-Committee. Recently, we contracted Heather to lead the case writers team and coordinate case development activities for the Annual Continuing Competence Review. Her knowledge of quality assurance and continuing competence will build on the solid foundation of COTBC’s Quality Assurance Program.
In her new role, Heather also supports the practice advice team at the College by answering practice questions from occupational therapists. She assists in the revision and creation of resource documents for occupational therapy practice in British Columbia.
Heather graduated from UBC with a B.Sc. O.T. in 2003 followed by a Master, Rehabilitation Science in 2011. Her background includes more than 15 years working clinically as an occupational therapist in acute, rehabilitation and private practice. Most recently, Heather was the Professional Practice Leader for Occupational Therapy at Providence Health Care in Vancouver where she was accountable for the overall delivery of professional, clinical and academic occupational therapy services across multiple practice areas and sites.
